Today we’re introducing a long awaited feature, the world portals that allow players to travel directly between worlds. The world portal block allows you to find the id’s of your own worlds through the plus and minus navigation, but you can specify any world id as the target of a world portal. To use a world portal you have to stand on top of the world portal block and push jump.

Ok ok we, know that usability could be improved a bit, but we’ll look into that somewhere down the road.

Featured Worlds

The lobby now has an additional filter for “featured” worlds. The worlds in this filter are intended for the promotion of quality worlds (as defined by us :)) to new players. We hope to promote worlds of varying gameplay and or artistic value.

We’ve moved the tutorials to this filter as well.

Save the invisible portal protest movement

As some of you may know the 20th of February was the deadline for submissions to “keep-the-invisible-portals” worlds from the “it’s-a-feature-not-a-bug” community movement.

To point the players attention to these excellent contributions the featured filter will start out with all the contributions added. Note that the lobby only lists worlds that actually have players in them, and so does the featured list.

Well here they are. We think they are all excellent work. (Be sure to check out the world forum threads over at our friends on the ee.forumify.com boards, for stories, tips and tricks for each of these worlds).

Based on these world, we will decide the fate of the invisible portals feature/bug.
